JANET COLE VALDEZ

A former Motown songwriter, Janet has numerous credits. Her songs have appeared in such movies as Columbia's
Gladiator, The Last Dragon, The Boost, South Beach Academy and
Guarded Secrets. She has had songs in such television shows as
The Young and the Restless, Fame, Chicago Story, Michael Jordan: An American
Hero, CBS Late Night, and the UPN movie What About Your
Friends. She co-wrote and co-produced four songs for Fox Family Channel holiday specials:
Garage Club Halloween and Garage Club Christmas.
Numerous recording artists have recorded Janet's songs. She had a top 10 hit in England with
Disappearing Act, sung by Jody Watley of Shalamar (Solar/MCA.) Other recording credits include El DeBarge (Warner
Brothers), Thelma Houston (Warner Brothers,) Tony Terry (CBS,) Tyler Collins (Warner Brothers,) Rockwell (Motown,) Charlene (Motown,) Rick Dees (Atlantic Records) and Jimmy Etheridge (Malachai Records.) Four of Janet's songs have recently been recorded by jazz artist Leigh Jones on Hidden Beach Records, scheduled for release in
fall of 2006.
Janet began her playwrighting career at age 11 with Indignity,
a satire of Sophocles' Antigone. Her collection of one-acts,
Life, Love & Other 4-Letter Words, debuted in 1998 to
enthusiastic audiences. She then teamed up with composer Devra
Robitaille to create By Any Other Name, which enjoyed a
successful L.A. run and resulted in an option with Hairspray
co-producer John Osher. Devra and Janet were subsequently
commissioned by Lion King producer Peter Schneider to
create music for a new show in development. When meeting with her
friend Marty and hearing a deeply moving story of his newly-found
son, Janet said "There is a musical in this story." She immediately
contacted Marc Bosserman and Tom Valdez; thus
Emerald Man was born.

Marc Bosserman is a L.A.-based composer/performer, whose styles encompass jazz, blues, rock and pop. Son of a Peace Corps ambassador, Marc spent his childhood in such places as Africa, France, Hawaii, and both Eastern and Western United States, relocating nearly every year. From a very young age, music was Marc's one constant. A couple of years ago, Marc and Janet co-wrote
